Certification under the Global Food Safety Standard, BRC is currently a fundamental requirement for many of the leading supermarkets in the United Kingdom, and for foodservice companies as well as food buyers worldwide. Developed by the British Retail Consortium (BRC), a consortium of UK retailers, this quality standard is designed to assess a food processor’s ability to meet Food Safety requirements and to demonstrate due diligence.
The main requirements of this standard include adopting the HACCP system (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), a documented quality system, and control of environmental, product, process, and personnel standards.
It is a food safety system promoted by the association of distributors in Germany, France, and Italy.
IFS is aimed at any company in the food sector that wishes to export its products to Germany, France, Italy, and the Netherlands. It is a standard designed specifically for the food industry that applies exclusively to food product manufacturers and packing companies. It is based on HACCP, safe hygiene practices, maintaining traceability, and top management’s commitment regarding their responsibility in managing these processes.
The GLOBALG.A.P. standard has been designed to give consumers confidence in good food production practices at the source, minimizing adverse environmental impacts of typical agricultural activities, reducing the use of chemical inputs, and ensuring responsible action regarding workers’ health and safety, as well as animal welfare. GLOBALG.A.P. is used worldwide as a practical guide to Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). Its basis is an equal partnership between agricultural producers and retailers who wish to establish effective certification standards and procedures.
Since 2014, we have been GRASP certified.
Good Agricultural Practices apply not only to products, but also to people.
That is why our members developed GRASP, a GLOBALG.A.P. add-on product. The acronym GRASP stands for GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice, and it is a voluntary, ready-to-use module developed to assess social practices on the farm, addressing specific issues related to workers’ health, safety, and welfare.
It is a deconcentrated and consultative body of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and the Environment, constituted as the body responsible for applying the Control System established in EEC Regulation 2092/91, for the production, processing, packaging, marketing, and import from third countries of organic agri-food products.
