Home ➔ Grapes: Good for Vision
Many experts recommend consuming 3 to 5 servings per day of both vegetables and fruits, since—as we know—they are healthy foods that should not and cannot be missing from our daily diet.
Not surprisingly, on more than one occasion we have recommended choosing seasonal foods as an ideal option, such as—for example—persimmons in autumn and winter, or grapes in summer.
Precisely for this main reason, today we are going to highlight some of the most important benefits and properties of grapes, both from a nutritional and therapeutic point of view, as they are highly beneficial for health.
Benefits and properties of grapes
As you surely know, one of the main characteristics of grapes is their great antioxidant power, which helps fight free radicals that are the primary cause of skin aging.
They also have hydrating, protective, and energizing benefits, making them ideal for people who want firm, well-cared-for skin, as they are a true source of vitality for it.
Among the most notable vitamins found in grapes is vitamin B3 (essential for metabolism). They also contain minerals and trace elements (calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium).
In the seeds we find an oil very rich in essential fatty acids, which has both softening and moisturizing properties aimed at strengthening the skin’s protective barrier.
Grapes also help with physical weakness, supporting the immune system and helping to prevent the formation of blood clots.
Of course, we should not forget that grapes are good for high blood pressure, as well as for preventing the formation of cataracts, protecting vision, and helping to prevent inflammation.
As we learned on a previous occasion, grape juice is also beneficial against cardiovascular diseases.
